Plan an Explosive 4th of July Weekend in Peekskill

Independence Day falls on a Thursday this year, and if you’re lucky you’ve got an extra long weekend to plan for! Here’s our itinerary to help you make the most of this 4th of July weekend in Peekskill. Boom!

1. Wave your flag at the 62nd Annual Peekskill July 4th Parade

The fun starts at 10:30 am with the 4th of July Parade put on by the Peekskill Volunteer Firefighters Association. The parade route will be starting on Crompond Road to South Division St, 1st Street, Union Ave, South St, N Division St, Main St, then ending on North Broad Street at the Central Fire House.

2. Head to the riverfront for Peekskill’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular

Music from First Class Dance Band kicks off at the Peekskill Riverfront Green Park at 7 pm. The band features a driving rhythm section, excellent vocal harmonies and punchy horn section and performs until the sun sets and the fireworks begin at 9:30 pm. If you haven’t experienced the Peekskill 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular yet, brace yourself for one of the best shows around. The incredible river and mountain views are the ultimate canvas for a pyrotechnic showcase that goes for longer, and louder and brighter than you might be expecting.

3. Experience the dream at Station Square by checking out the El Sueño lounge pop-up

Watch Peekskill’s 4th of July fireworks this Thursday evening in the outdoor lounge pop-up for #stationsquare’s newest cocktail bar, El Sueño, coming very soon!   

The Pop Up starts at 6 pm and will feature 3 craft cocktails, including cantaritos, watermelon aqua frescas and mezcal palomas, as well as chicken, beef and mushroom empanadas

Order from the window in between @tacodivebar and El Sueño, the former location of @betterburgerny, and sit in the outdoor lounge with your refreshments while celebrating the holiday! 🥂🎆

And don’t forget to grab ice cream from @frozepeekskill 🍦

4. Get a sneak peek of Copperhead Club on Water Street

Peekskill’s newest hotspot, Copperhead Club will be open on July 4 at noon! This won’t be their official opening day, but a chance to celebrate the 4th with the Copperhead crew as they prep for their grand opening. Come on down for a cookout BBQ limited menu, drinks, fireworks, and fun.

5. After the fireworks, get your karaoke on at Gleason’s

Venture up the hill after the fireworks show at the Peekskill Riverfront to Gleason’s downtown to belt out your best rendition of patriotic hits at Gleason’s Karaoke After Party! Hosted by TC Entertainment this special version of the weekly event starts at 9 pm and runs late.

6. Experience live music at Esther Place all weekend courtesy of BeanRunner Cafe

BeanRunner Cafe has Esther Place fully booked all weekend with great live music to keep you dancing in the summer sun. On Friday at 7 pm, Cuboricua brings salsa to the street. Saturday at 6 pm the Mala Waldron Quartet will soothe the street with jazz vocals and piano. Stephen Claire closes on the series on Sunday starting at 3pm.

7. Get your BBQ grub at the Peekskill Farmer’s Market

The Peekskill Farmer’s Market has been in full swing for the month of June and if you haven’t hit it up yet, this is the weekend to do it. Head over and load up on farm-fresh provisions for your 4th of July Weekend BBQ and support local while you’re at it. The market is open Saturday, July 1st at 8 am on Bank Street and runs until 2 in the afternoon.

8. Check out Peekskill’s ice cream scene. Sweet!

It’s a holiday weekend, that’s a guilt-free reason to indulge in Peekskill’s sweetest ice cream shops.
