Here’s a rundown of some of the top St. Patrick’s Day events in Peekskill that you won’t want to miss.
Peekskill St. Patrick’s Day Parade
On Saturday, March 11th, join the community in celebrating the 32nd annual Peekskill St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This event is one of the largest parades in the region and features colorful floats, marching bands, and a whole lot of green. The parade starts at 3pm on South Division Street (at Fremont St), moves up North Division Street, then east on Main Street to James Street, and then south to Brown Street.
The Grand Marshall’s Kickoff Tour
On Friday, March 10th, the night before the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, join the Grand Marshall and his Aides on a Peekskill pub crawl to kick off the festivities. The fun starts at 5pm at the Elk’s Lodge, then moves to Gleason’s at 5:30pm, followed by Firehouse Grill, Kyle’s Pub, Peekskill Public Kitchen, Ruben’s, Whiskey River, and ends at Birdsall House at 10pm. Pipe Major Joe Brady will be leading the crew to each location with the memorable sounds of his bagpipes.
Race to the Craic 5K And Wee 1K
Join Run PB on the morning of March 11th for an Irish-themed run or walk along the beautiful shores of the Hudson River. The race will start at 10:00 am in front of Peekskill Brewery and will finish a very short distance away on the waterfront green. The Wee 1K will be a 1-kilometer fun run on the waterfront intended for kids 10 and under and starting at 10:45 am. There will be prizes, Irish music and of course lots of craic! Andy Cooney’s Irish Cabaret
On Thursday, March 9th Irish American performer Andy Cooney is joined by Mick Thomas, Ciara Fox, and the Guinness Irish Band to bring a fabulous evening of Irish music, song, dance, and comedy to the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater! Andy Cooney will perform his hit recordings and sing for you all of your Irish favorites, The Emerald Fire Irish Dancers will dazzle you, and you’ll also enjoy Celtic singing sensation Ciara Fox and Mick Thomas will have you bellied over in Irish laughter. It’ll be an evening filled with the Spirit of the Irish as we warm up for St. Patrick’s Day!
Kegs ‘N Eggs
Join Peekskill Brewery on Friday, March 17th for their annual KEGS N’ EGGS celebration The doors will be open starting at 8am and they’ll have live Irish music by The Parting Glass, specialty beers, along with traditional Irish food options including Irish Breakfast, Corned Beef & Cabbage, Shepherd’s Pie & More. Whether you’re venturing to New York City for the St. Patrick’s Parade, or staying local, start your celebration with Kegs ‘N Eggs at Peekskill Brewery.
Birdsall House St. Patrick’s Day
Head over to Peekskill’s favorite gastropub, Birdsall House on Friday, March 17th to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with amazing food and live music. The menu includes corned beef & cabbage, bangers and mash with onion gravy, and Guinness beef stew with crusty bread. The band Vinyl Siding with be shamrocking the house starting at 9pm.
