Flier for 201 N. Division Street Public Hearing at Peekskill City Hall

Public Hearing for 201 N. Division Street

Speak up for a Friendly Future! A mixed-use residential building from local developer James Guerriero and designed by local architect Joe Thompson is up for approval by Peekskill’s Common Council.

The proposed development would transform a zombie block of long abandoned and decaying buildings into much-needed housing and commercial space, beautifying a neglected block of the northern side of Peekskill’s downtown, and bringing jobs and tax revenue to our city.

The project is locally designed and developed, both James and Joe live and raise their families in the area and have a real stake in the future of Peekskill.

The development will bring walkability to an area in desperate need of it — last year a Peekskill man was killed in a tragic hit-and-run in the location of this development.

The project also perfectly aligns and meets New York State Downtown Revitalization goals. Peekskill was granted 10 million dollars from the State to revitalize downtown Peekskill. Half a million is being used to rebuild Pugsley Park across the street from this proposed development. That investment is at risk of being wasted if the block just to the north of it remains abandoned and dangerous.

Please join your fellow Peekskill citizens who want to see our Friendly Town reach its potential, and become an even greater place to live and raise a family by speaking in support of this project that will transform a forgotten block into a vibrant one.

The meeting starts at 7pm at Peekskill City Hall.

If you’re unable to attend, please email your comments to the following people at City Hall:

But please, try to show up in person. We’ll be meeting at Birdsall House to talk Peekskill’s friendly future before and after the meeting!
